HAVE YOU RE-TREASURED ANYTHING LATELY?? | DIY | SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR DESIGN

Are you asking yourself -what is re-treasured?  

It is a word my husband Joe and I coined to describe our process of transforming an old or used item into something new/different.  Basically it is re-discovering the hidden or buried treasure within something, anything. 

The rest of the world calls it UPCYCLING.  With a little creativity and imagination, you can breathe new life into items that were destined for the curb or landfill.  Do you have a piece of furniture in your home that has been forgotten and could use an uplift? What about the frame sitting in your basement from an old mirror that broke 5 years ago? What about turning that ceramic vase, collecting dust in the cupboard into a lamp?  

I'd like to share with you a few of our re-treasuring projects.  

These two chairs had been put out on a neighbours lawn for the weekly household garbage pickup .  I loved the style of these chairs and actually needed two chairs for the entry of our home. 

We removed the old worn upholstery and replaced it with something just a little more contemporary that suited our décor.
