How many times have you walked into a room and said, " yikes these room colours are not really working. Something is seriously off ".  Do you ever recall saying that when looking at the flowers in your garden? No, never because Mother Nature has her colour system down pat!!

I snapped some pictures of flowers in my garden this weekend and created a few collages with decor images that recreate the same colour scheme as these flowers.  

A wonderful way to showcase Mother Natures' talent.

This colour combo is so refreshing.  Yellow - the colour of sunshine which evokes feelings of joy, happiness, warmth and energy. White - purity, cleanliness, light. 

The purple and green of this colour combo is pretty bold but as you can see by the picture of the bedroom in the middle picture above, lighter versions of each colour can create a very calming space. Purple is the colour of wealth, royalty and wisdom.

I adore the orange and green of this colour palette and find it very energizing and inviting. Orange is associated with enthusiasm, happiness, creativity and gives the feeling of heat.

Of course all flowers share the colour green which symbolizes so many things.  The most obvious is nature - growth, harmony and healing. Definitely the reason we all feel so amazing when we are in the outdoors surrounded by trees and foliage. That connection to nature helps soothe and relax us.

Green is also the colours associated with LEED, Eco and the Environment and that is why I included it in my Logo when I designed it.  

So if you are stuck in a decorating dilemma and require some expert advice, all you really have to do is walk out to your garden to a wonderful selection of colour inspiration/schemes for your home; all compliments of Mother Nature.
